It’s feeling really strange that we won’t be spending Christmas in our home this year after selling it just a few weeks ago. However, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Cox and Cox so Christmas came early and I was able to decorate it for one last time! I felt really emotional once it was all done. I picked a beautiful Birch Indoor light up tree and decorations from the “Copper Woodland Range.” They all looked beautiful in my house and are going to be perfect for the many Christmas’ to come in our new home which backs onto woodlands. I love the texture and rustic nature of this collection. I also snuck in a few extra’s from their “New Neutral” range and some gorgeous seagrass baskets to keep all the presents. I am sharing the love this Christmas and have a 20% off code for you, so you can recreate this look, just use “HYGGE20” at the checkout until 31st December 2018.

I see decorating for Christmas as another opportunity to bring the outdoors indoors and making it as hygge (cosy) as possible. I like to keep the backdrop neutral and then add lots of greenery, and copper to add warmth not forgetting a sheepskin! It feels like the copper woodland range was made for me 😉

The first thing I wanted to do in order to create a woodland Christmas scene was greenery. I picked a frosted pine wreath and swag which can be adjusted and I placed it on my mantelpiece. I love how real the faux foliage looks and think they look great together. It’s a pared back scheme with not too much clutter which I am drawn too. I am a fan of anything that uses raw materials and adore the concrete brush tree which I placed at the end of the mantel piece! The mini trees come as a pair and would also look good as a group if you wanted to create a wintery scene.

I am partial to a faux tree at Christmas and have the Cox and Cox Instagram famous frosted branches hanging tree so I wanted to try out something new this year. I chose a beautiful light up Birch indoor tree which you can use with the lights on or off. This tree is perfect for a woodland inspired Christmas, bringing the outdoors indoors at this time of year is hugely popular and I think it’s because this kind of festive theme is really inviting and warm especially if you have a log burner or open fire. I think Cox and Cox are onto a winner with these!

I didn’t want to overwhelm the tree and still wanted the logs and wreath in the background to have an impact so I kept the Christmas decorations to a minimum. I fell in love with the distressed copper stars which have an aged effect, I picked a set of the petite ones and the larger stars. I have a bit of an obsession with stars, so at Christmas time it’s difficult for me to resist anything star related!! I also snuck in some giant cream pom poms from the “New Neutrals” range.

My star obsession continues with the wrapping paper I chose and I have bought a black dress with tiny gold stars all over it to wear for Christmas parties this year too! I think someone needs to reign me in! It might annoy some but I love wrapping Christmas presents. I even wrap Christmas stocking presents which I recently found out that not every “Father Christmas,” does 😉 I also picked these really sweet wooden “Merry Christmas,” tags which I will of course keep and reuse next year!

And I also think the vessel for your Christmas presents should be as stylish as everything else around it, a point which my husband again disagrees with. I have to say though that with three little ladies now, the majority of presents have to be piled on top of each other on the floor. However it is fun to break it up and I think these seagrass baskets are perfect as you can use them all year round for other things too.

Lastly, you cannot have a Christmas, even a pared back neutral one without some sparkle! I chose these ombre leaf copper baubles which will definitely be going on my tree this year!

I hope you have enjoyed my blog and I would love to hear what you think of my woodland inspired Christmas?
